Radiology Deployment Group

Sponsor: RANZCR

Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise Australia is forming a Radiology Deployment Group, to advance the cause of standardisation in radiology systems for the benefit of everyone involved in health services, most importantly the consumer. The initial aims of the IHE Australia Radiology Deployment Group include:
  • Liaise with and influence the NeHTA radiology work program to include IHE profiles as internationally proven solutions to local problems
  • Promote the adoption by Australian vendors of the IHE Scheduled Work Flow
  • Promote the open standards based delivery of diagnostic images to clinicians
    • Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing – Images (XDS-I) profiles
    • IHE Portable Data for Imaging (PDI) profile
    • Evaluate use of IHE Mammographic Profiles in Australia
  • Organise and promote vendor participation in IHE Australia Connectathons and the HIC interoperability demonstration, testing local products against the IHE PDI, SWF and XDS-I profiles
  • Expand the scope of work to include IHE Radiation Exposure Monitoring.
  • Promote the use of IM&CT to improve the practice of diagnostic imaging and improved patient outcomes.

Those interested are invited to join the Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging list to be informed about radiology, imaging and therapy developments. If you are new to IHE we suggest you also join the general information list.
